My work traces the secret rhythms of hidden infrastructures—the quiet hum of water through pipes, the pulse of blood in our veins, the slow digestion of nutrients within. These vital systems—both bodily and architectural—are invisible until they falter, emerging only in moments of rupture or decay. I am drawn to this threshold where the overlooked becomes undeniable, where boundaries blur, and the organic entangles with the industrial.

Over the past two years at Cranbrook Academy of Art, I have forged metal into biomorphic-industrial hybrids, casting iron and electroforming copper to evoke the strange elegance of growth and corrosion. Steel’s rigidity recalls bridges and buildings—monuments of permanence—while copper, with its warm patina and fluid channels, whispers of circulation, of leaks, of life.

I am enchanted by the weird beauty of proliferating gourds, sprouting potatoes, and the tangled architecture of pipes—forms that speak to our symbiosis with the infrastructures we inhabit. Through texture and transformation, I seek to capture the glitch: the moment when structure softens, when boundaries dissolve, and the artificial becomes organic. My work is an invitation to glimpse the unseen systems that cradle and constrain us, to marvel at the strangeness of the familiar.
